Born in Morecambe, Christine's artistic journey began in Lancaster's Storey Institute in the 1970's.

Alongside a successful career in the arts Christine has always continued to develop her own painting practice and has exhibited widely.

She has now returned to her roots and is studio based in Bolton-Le-Sands.

NOT THE FACE : private life vs public image. A small selection from an ongoing series exploring portraiture and identity in the age of social media.

To celebrate this Glorious, Photographic Art and Lancasters Infamous First Friday ~

We'll be opening late on Friday 7th April 5pm - 8pm!

Come and meet the artist and peruse his work.

We'll also be serving up a First Friday Special along with our usual hot drinks.

Exhibition by Alan Outram

From the 25th Jan to the 1st of March - we have the pleasure of Alans amazing collages on our walls - we love them so much! 

Alan Outram lives and works in the holiday resort of Morecambe. As well as making collage he runs a small record label releasing soundtracks which he creates the cover art for. He also records and releases ghostly synth pop records under various guises. Alan uses scissors, glue and vintage books and magazines to create interpretations of the mundane and whimsical facets of life.

To celebrate this we'll be opening late on Friday 3rd Feb 5pm - 8pm  - come and meet the artist and peruse his work.

We'll also be serving up a Friday evening special along with our usual hot drinks.          Come along - everyone is welcome.

FIRST FRIDAY NO: 5! ~ MOLLY BLAND

On the 5th of August as part of Lancaster's first Fridays, The Radish will stay open a bit late! 5pm - 8pm.

To celebrate Lancasters lovely local artists we'll be showing the work of Molly Bland ~ a  local artist working with print, collage and drawing to make playful pieces that illustrate all things green!

We'll also be serving up some Tasty~First~Friday~Food to keep you going through the First Friday night of fun.

 

First Friday no:4! Ben Hall

On the 3rd of June as part of Lancaster's first Fridays, The Radish will stay open a bit late! 5pm - 8pm. To celebrate Lancasters lovely local artists we'll be showing a 'collection of new prints and ceramics from ham-fisted lancashire lad Mr Ben.' (we know for a fact that he's not ham-fisted as his carrot copping abilities are second to none!) We'll also be serving up some Tasty~First~Friday~Food to keep you going through the First Friday night of fun.

First Friday NO: 3 ~ BONNIE CRAIG ~ Pattern Artist & designer

On the 6th of May as part of Lancaster's first Fridays, the radish will stay open a bit late! 5pm - 8pm.

To celebrate Lancasters lovely local artists we'll be hanging the beautiful work of Bonnie Craig on our walls. 

Bonnie Craig is a Lancaster-based artist who works mainly with pattern. Based at the Storey Artist Studios, Bonnie produces pattern-based screenprints and large-scale installations in buildings. Find out more about her work at www.bonnie-craig.com 

Also, if you want to  produce your own pattern postcards ~ inspired by Bonnies awesome designs~ then drop-by for her drop-in workshop.

We'll also be serving up some Tasty~First~Friday~Food to keep you going through~out this arty~eve.

First Fridays no: 2 ~ with vegetable prints by Jenny McCabe

On April 1st ~ as part of Lancasters First Fridays, The Radish we'll be opening a bit late!

To celebrate art and Lancaster's local talent ~ on the walls will be glorious screen prints by Jenny McCabe, beautiful vegetable prints made especially for The Radish. 

We'll also be serving up some nice food ~ 5pm - 8pm.

Please come along and take a look, eat some food or just say 'hello!'

Three months in.....

We opened a while ago now, on the 16th of December 2016.

And have been very busy (exhausted) since!

Stress levels are easing now - hence time to do the website!

 

 

New and exciting food venture in Lancaster City!

We're in the process of building the shop and it's complicated and it's going to get really bonkers before we get to the point of opening, then it may be chaos for a bit and then.......THEN it will be totally awesome and amazing! I we can't wait! photos of the progress coming soon!
